Duration: Fixed Term Contract until June 2027

What you’ll be doing

  • To ensure that centrally controlled balance sheet reconciliations in the team’s remit are of a consistently high quality, with minimal aged and unknown items. 

  • Ensure that all month end tasks including opening / closing ledgers, posting of centrally controlled journals and other deadlines for Budget and Forecast are met. 

  • Responsible for other Financial Accounting processes including postings and mappings for Insurance claims and distriubution of monthly reports.

  • Development of the General Ledger Balance Sheet team to deliver an engaged and high performing function. 

  • Review processes to identify efficiencies and implement better ways of working in current processes.

  • Management, reporting and review of aged GRIR transactions.

  • Liaise with internal and external auditors on all matters concerning the team

  • Resolves queries, fulfill requests from the wider business.

What are we looking for?

Essential:

  • Fully Qualified – ACA, ACCA or CIMA (no exams remaining)

  • Advanced Excel & Google skills 

  • Able to work unsupervised, in an organised way, able to manage own time and prioritise work proactively to meet all deadlines

  • Able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail to produce accurate information

  • Be able to thrive when working in a complex and dynamic environment, demonstrating an enquiring mind and positive ethos

Desirable:

  • Balance sheet reconciliation review experience in a large complex business

  • Working in a general ledger team

  • Experience of managing and leading a team 

  • Knowledge of Workday
