Operations Manager (Municipal Waste)

*This is a secondment for a minimum of 9 months*

Salary: £47,000 per annum plus company car/cash allowance and pension

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week - Secondment for a minimum of 9 months

Location: Southwark

What you'll be doing;

  • Manage the operational services, ensuring exceptional service levels are maintained and customer needs are met.

  • Implement, guide and control operational safety, performance, quality and cost effectiveness in line with Company policy and procedures.

  • Ensure the cost effective management of the services on the contract, including waste collections and ancillary services whilst operating in line with compliance, legislation requirements and customer satisfaction levels. 

  • Manage an employee workforce including Service Delivery Managers and operatives in line with the contract specifications.

  • Manage the operational performance of the contract and the adherence of KPIs to ensure financial penalties are not applied, whilst ensuring the budget is met, reviewed and costs are monitored.

  • Ensure all contract positions are staffed by competent persons.

  • Ensure all resources and routes are operated in the most cost efficient way, whilst ensuring that fleet compliance, Health & safety etc are not compromised in any way.

  • Ensure full service delivery through ensuring that issues e.g. workforce performance are managed proactively and prior to any complaints that may be received from the client or residents.

What we're looking for;

  • IOSH certificate.

  • Municipal waste management experience.

  • Experience of developing Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.

  • Strong communication skills with operatives, management and client team.

  • IT literate with experience of an operational management system.
