What you’ll be doing; 

  • Working as part of a small team responsible for the efficient and timely lab analysis of a range of pre-acceptance waste chemical samples (techniques include: pH, colorimetry, titration, ICP, XRF, GCMS)

  • Recording results with care and reporting to the Laboratory Manager/Commercial Team.

  • You will perform daily quality checks of instrumentation and report non-conformities to the Lab Manager.  You will also be responsible for calibration and troubleshooting of the equipment.

  • Monitoring environmental parameters around site and provide radiation protection supervision (training provided)

  • You will follow SOPs and ensure compliance with site safety standards and proper sample handling procedures

  • Collaborate with other departments providing technical support and analytical guidance

 

What we're looking for;

  • Degree / HNC in Chemistry or demonstrable skills obtained within a chemical laboratory. 

  • Knowledge and experience of working within the requirements of a COMAH site.                             

  • Excellent work ethic with a drive to improve skills. 

  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team.

  • Radiation Protection Supervisor (Not Essential)  

  • Experience of the following techniques would be an advantage: ICP-OES, GCMS, XRF
