We know that everyone here at Veolia can help us work alongside our communities, look after the environment, and contribute to our inclusive culture.

Join our Security team as a Security Operations Technician where you can build your career whilst safeguarding our operations. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to learn and contribute to various security initiatives, assisting with both proactive projects and responding to security requests. You'll work closely with experienced team members, supporting security assessments, helping to implement remediation strategies, and assisting in maintaining our information security policies. Collaborating with our Security Operations Centre (SOC), you'll gain hands-on experience executing security plans and learning about security best practices.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting Security Operations: Assist in monitoring security systems and responding to alerts under guidance.

  • Contributing to Assessments: Help with routine security assessments and document findings.

  • Implementing Solutions: Support the implementation of remediation strategies to address identified vulnerabilities.

  • Policy Assistance: Aid in maintaining and updating information security policies and procedures.

  • Collaboration: Work with internal teams and external partners to support security initiatives.

What we're looking for:

  • Passion for Cybersecurity: A strong interest in cybersecurity trends, technologies, and a desire to learn and grow in the field.

  • Foundational OS Knowledge: Basic understanding of Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems.

  • Networking Basics: Familiarity with fundamental networking concepts and components (e.g., firewalls, VPNs).

  • Eagerness to Learn: An interest in Security Operations Centres (SOCs) and a willingness to learn about security tools (e.g., vulnerability management, EDR platforms).

  • Problem-Solving Mindset: A proactive approach to identifying potential security issues and a desire to learn how to mitigate them.

  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively within a team environment.

Bonus points for:

  • Any exposure to cloud environments.

  • An interest in automation or scripting.

  • Familiarity with auditing frameworks such as ISO, NIST, or GDPR.

  • Relevant IT or Security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CCNA).

We're seeking someone who is enthusiastic, curious, and ready to enhance their career in cybersecurity. If you don't meet every single requirement but are passionate about security and eager to learn, we encourage you to apply. If you feel that you'd be a great fit for this role and Veolia, we'd love to find out more about you.
