Salary: £27,943.65 per annum plus Veolia benefits rising to £30,543.69 once training completed

Hours: 40 hours per week. This is a days/cover role 

Normal hours will be 0700-1530 but will include occasional cover of the morning/afternoon/nights shifts.

What you’ll be doing; 

  • Operate Mobile plant to ensure efficient plant operation and recyclate collection

  • Operating the plant SCADA system when trained

  • General cleaning of equipment, structure and floor within the Mechanical Pre Treatment (MPT)  including baling hall and yard, shredders, trommels, ballistic separators and all mobile plant to name but a few 

  • Assisting with the supervision of contractors and visitors to the site

  • Wearing of correct PPE

  • Reporting all safety & plant / equipment issues

  • Working as a team and maintain contact with others

  • Using handrails and marked walkways when moving around site

  • Keeping the work area clean and tidy from litter and spillages

  • Stop the Job and report any safety issues to your Supervisor

  • Checking all equipment, tools and machinery before using them

  • Knowing where and how to use the emergency stops

  • Clearing of blockages

  • Basic isolations of plant to ensure own and staff safety (LOTO)

What we're looking for;

Essential

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Understanding of Health and safety policies and procedures

Desirable

  • Mobile plant licence and experience is desirable
