Job Title:  Electrification Solution Development Manager

Salary: £60,000 per annum plus bonus, Car allowance and Veolia benefits (package worth up to £78,600)

Location: Hybrid / London

What will you be doing?

We have an excellent opportunity for an Electrification Solution Development Manager to lead our EV Services Department. The candidate will be responsible for managing and growing our electric vehicle charging infrastructure business, working with a dedicated team of EV professionals.

This role offers the opportunity to shape and drive forward Veolia's ambitions in the EV sector, working with both local authorities and corporate clients.

Provide expertise to both clients and Veolia contracts on the implementation of EV infrastructure. Take part in consultancy activities across the feasibility, design and delivery stages of larger fleet electrification projects.

  • Pre-sales support

    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide expert technical consultation to support pre-sales activities;

    • Engage with clients to understand their requirements and challenges;

    • Recommend customized technical solutions based on client needs.

  • Feasibility & technical solution assessment;

    • Conduct and manage preliminary site inspections and desktop studies to evaluate sizing and potential location of EV charging infrastructure;

    • Assess technical feasibility and site suitability for EV charging infrastructure installation;

    • Liaise with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) to assess grid connection requirements, evaluate technical feasibility, and obtain cost estimates for power infrastructure needs;

    • Analyze and document site conditions, access requirements, and power availability;

  • Bid phase 

    • Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, sales, and engineering, to develop integrated EV proposals that enhance our service offerings to clients;

    • Develop technical solutions, in collaboration with Veolia engineering team, aligned with client requirements and specifications;

    • Define comprehensive project scopes and technical specifications for contractors and suppliers; 

    • Develop detailed project cost estimates including equipment, installation, grid connection and contingencies while identifying potential risks and establishing mitigation strategies to ensure project viability;

    • Identify and assess project risks and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies;

    • Support large-scale tender submissions with technical expertise, cost analysis, and risk evaluation;

  • Design & Engineering Coordination

    • Review technical site designs, cable routes, civils works, and charger placement with internal engineers or design partners.

    • Ensure compliance with electrical and construction regulations (BS 7671, IET Code of Practice, etc).


 

What are we looking for?

  • Educated to degree level in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Understanding of EV charging infrastructure and fleet electrification.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.

  • Technically astute and a genuine interest in technology

  • Technical knowledge and good understanding of electrical systems (at both grid level and building level)

  • Experience in client relationship management

  • Project management experience in a similar field

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time effectively

  • Driving license
