Role: Environmental Monitoring Technician
Salary: Competitive plus Veolia benefits
Hours: 45 hours per week
Location: Skelmersdale or Sheffield area
If you enjoy working outdoors and have experience working in agricultural or similar outdoor environments, we have an excellent opportunity for you. This role lets you put your outdoor working skills to good use across various sites primarily in the North West, Yorkshire and Midlands, providing routine water sampling, leachate management, gas monitoring and maintenance services on our closed landfill sites during their aftercare period.

What you'll be doing;
Working outdoors, conducting environmental monitoring, including sampling of groundwater, surface waters, and landfill effluents.
Measure and record water levels and landfill gas concentrations.
Report results and undertake follow-up actions to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Perform field-based work, visiting sites in the North West, Yorkshire and Midlands.
Comply with company health and safety requirements and contribute to improving safety performance.
Support with the maintenance of closed landfills
What we're looking for;
Be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Experience of environmental monitoring, preferably within landfills or other similar industrial settings
Hold a full UK driving license
Be willing to travel across the North and Midlands, across landfills
