Hours - 45 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 16:30 

Occasional overtime, weekends and nights as required plus a shared out-of-hours emergency call-out rota system

Occasional working away from home

Base location Brownhills, WS8 7DG 

Veolia’s industrial division combines a range of industrial services to provide appropriate solutions such as chemical cleaning, tank cleaning, materials handling, water jetting and environmental response.

What will you be doing?

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of PPE, tools and equipment in our busy stores department. 

  • Maintain, inspect, record, repair and carry out calibrations to safety equipment including Breathing Apparatus (BA), Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE), Working at Height Equipment and High-Pressure Water Jetting Equipment

  • Check stock control systems, observe good stock rotation principles and participate in regular audits.

  • Monitor and maintain records of equipment requiring calibration & testing

  • Training of personnel in the use of Breathing Apparatus(BA), Manual Handling and conducting quantitative face fit testing

  • Ensure purchase orders and requisitions are raised following the correct company procedure.

  • Participate in the Veolia Emergency Response duty rota system as and when required.

  • Ensure all aspects of Health and Safety are adhered to within the IS stores and immediate area.

  • Receiving, off-hiring and inspecting hired equipment

  • Control delivery notes and invoice records for all materials and equipment delivered

  • Carry out formal assessments of drivers and provide training where needed

  • Check the security of IS buildings, including the security of vehicles parked in the yard overnight

What are we looking for?

  • Must have a proven background in managing stores with experience in inspecting, maintaining, testing and calibrating of equipment

  • Full UK driving licence

  • A good understanding of electrical/mechanical equipment with the ability to carry out repairs

A pre-employment medical assessment will be required to use the breathing apparatus - we will do this.

Desirable:

  • Forklift truck licence category B1

  • Hold a NEBOSH National General Certificate or similar qualification

  • IOSH Personal Fall Protection Equipment Tester, Breathing Apparatus Maintainer, Train the Trainer & Portacount Facefit Training
