Salary -  £18.50ph plus Veolia benefits  

Hours - 40 per week, Monday to Friday 08:00-16:00

Location - Battlefield Plastics Recycling Facility, Battlefield Way, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, SY1 3EQ

The new Plastics Recycling Facility (PRF) is designed to process up to 200,000 tonnes of non-hazardous plastics annually. This processing includes manual separation, size reduction, automatic sorting, granulation, cleaning, washing, and either baling or bagging.

Screening will take place towards the end of December 2025

Interviews will take place in January 2026

What will you be doing?

  • Assist plant management in controlling the day to day production running of the site

  • Assign tasks and delegate responsibilities to shift personnel

  • Ensure all directly reporting operatives, comply with company and Health and Safety Standards

  • Undertake all tasks in accordance with the companies Quality and Environmental Management System and Health and Safety Regulations and ensure that proper discipline is maintained on site at all times.

  • Ensure that, whilst on duty, any defects or faults on the plant and mobile machinery are reported to the site maintenance team and site management immediately

  • Supervise and perform quality checks on material delivery to ensure it meets quality standards and site input specifications.

  • Ensure recycled plastic materials meet specified quality standards (e.g., purity, flow).

  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures and checks

  • Identify and report non-conforming materials or products

  • Communicate operational information to the plant production manager

What are we looking for?

  • Good Health & Safety knowledge 

  • Proven leadership experience within a similar operational role

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting, training, and team interaction

Desirable 

  • A UK driving licence and own transport
