Salary - £13ph (£27,040.00) 

Plus a bonus of up to £40 per week for covering supervisory duties as and when required

Hours - 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:15pm

Location - Minworth, Sutton Coldfield, B76 1AH

This is our newly developed battery recycling plant, accepting all types of batteries but specialising in lithium-ion batteries.

What will you be doing?

Lithium-ion batteries, depending on their type, will be shredded. Larger batteries, such as those used in electric vehicles, need to be discharged and dismantled before the shredding process. Shred will be stored for drainage and then sent to another depot for further processing.  This is a completely new process with many factors still being developed. 

Duties:

  • Handling and sorting batteries according to type and chemical composition

  • Discharging and dismantling bigger batteries- preparing for shredding

  • Operating machinery and power tools including a B1 Counterbalance FLT

  • Monitoring the recycling process to ensure efficiency, safety and compliance with environmental standards

  • Following safety procedures for handling hazardous materials and using personal protective equipment

  • Keeping area clean and organised to maintain a safe environment

  • Recording data and assisting with loading and unloading batteries

  • Providing supervisory cover as and when required

  • Travelling locally to customer sites as and when required (days only)


 

What are we looking for?

  • Similar operational, manual handling experience

  • Full UK Driving licence

  • Forklift licence - B1 Counterbalance (Valid within 3 years)

  • Flexibility on new processes being introduced as the site develops
