Job Title: Supervisor (Ground Maintenance inc. Cemeteries/Crematoria)

Location: Moat Lane, Solihull, B91 2LW

Hours: Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week

Standard shift: 08:00 - 16:00 (30 min unpaid break)

Salary: £31,324

Grade: L4.R2

What you'll be doing;

  • HR management (absence management, investigations, disciplinaries)

  • Manage and deliver on ground maintenance operations (including within cemeteries and crematoria)

  • Manage and coordinate, with SMBC Bereavement Services, burial operations.

  • Support health and wellbeing initiatives

  • Represent the company at local authority and resident meetings

  • Deliver employee inductions and maintain training records

  • Oversee and maintain vehicle compliance

  • Help manage transfer station and depot compliance

  • Conduct crew inspections and monitor contract work

  • Assisting in other service areas i.e. Waste, Street Cleansing and the HWRC as/if required.

What we're looking for;

Essential

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Experience with grounds maintenance equipment and machinery

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of environmental legislation

  • Experience in disciplinary investigations and absence monitoring

  • Computer literacy

Desirable

  • Experience in grounds maintenance contracts, ideally within cemeteries and crematoria.

  • Horticultural qualification or equivalent practical experience (preferred)

  • Recognised burials qualifications; ICCM COTS 

  • PA1 & PA6 Certification 

  • IOSH managing safety certification 

  • Accident investigation experience (advantageous)
