Hours: 42.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm

Location: Veolia South Downs Contract - East Sussex

Freshfields Lane

(With travel to various locations within the East Sussex contract)

What you'll be doing;

  • Ensure that our two transfer facilities are operated in accordance with the environmental permit, planning consent, management system requirements and applicable legislation.

  • You will be required to manage c12 members of staff.

  • Liaise effectively with staff to ensure efficient operation of the transfer stations.

  • Action all findings related to the facility as identified by third party and internal inspections and audits.

  • Work closely with the Logistics team ensuring that both the two functions work harmoniously and efficiently together.  

  • Meeting and exceeding operational KPIs for the Transfer Stations, including minimising operational costs.

  • Completing reports for statutory bodies. 

  • Proactively making improvements to operations and adapting to the changing requirements of the business.

  • Provide Certificate of Technical Competence (COTC) cover at two WTS sites (COTC holder desirable but training will be provided for the right candidate.

What we're looking for;

  • Previous experience gained in leadership or managing a team is essential

  • Ability to manage multiple locations

  • Waste management experience is essential

  • IOSH / NEBOSH is an advantage

  • HR Process experience is desirable
