Welcoming people of all backgrounds
Respecting the views and opinions of others
Supporting each other and making everyone feel included
Standing up for inclusion
And there is variety in what we’re doing together:
In 2023, we launched our new inclusion strategy: Five by 2025.From improving our culture, to bettering our commitment to inclusion, diversity and equity, this outlines our bold ambitions and long-term objectives to hit by 2025.
The strategy looks at five key areas across our business. This includes a focus on leadership accountability, reviewing our approach to talent, progression and training, and working towards an environment where everyone feels safe to thrive as themselves at work.
We take the wellbeing of our colleagues seriously, so everyone has access to trained and dedicated mental health first aiders when they need to.
By providing site visits from trained medical professionals for our colleagues, we can encourage them to prioritise their health and wellbeing.
We also create a calendar of events and activities each year. These range from on-site events to interactive discussions and expert insights into wellbeing, inclusion and diversity.

Harnessing the Power of Our 50+ Talent
With our diverse and multi generational workforce we're able to bring together expertise, innovation and fresh perspectives. We're not just talking about age diversity, we're celebrating it!
To be part of both London and Brighton Pride, was a memorable moment for us at Veolia. We were honoured to spread our message: Proud at Veolia, throughout the streets and see over 80 Veolia colleagues take part in both celebrations, standing strong with the LGBTQIA+ community.
At Veolia, we want to bring out the best in our people, that’s why we’re always there to listen to and understand what is and what’s not working for our colleagues. Our Employee Resource Group is committed to regularly conduct listening sessions across the business. By understanding and acting on feedback from our colleagues, we can keep putting the people at the heart of Veolia first.
We know we must continue to challenge ourselves, assess our biases and listen to and learn from each other, all while making the next step in our journey towards a fairer future for all.

Our Partners

Disability Confident Employer
It’s an honour to be a Disability Confident Employer – no one should feel held back from an opportunity to work with us, and we want everyone to have the opportunity to be at their best.

Business Disability Forum
Our partnership with the Business Disability Forum is all about supporting disabled people by providing accessible journeys throughout the recruitment process, as well as their career at Veolia.

Mental Health at Work Commitment
We know that mental health is just as important as the physical. So it needs to be taken seriously in the workplace. With over 230 mental health first aiders working across the whole of Veolia, we’re delighted to support the Mental Health At Work commitment and provide support when it’s needed.

Armed Forces Covenant
As a gold award holder in the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, we’re proud to support the Armed Forces community. We’ve signed the Armed Forces Covenant and we’re honoured to have Reservists, Service Leavers, Armed Forces Veterans, Cadet Instructors and military partners among our teams. We understand and value the knowledge and skills that they bring to our business and society.
Sustainable Futures
Our Sustainable Futures programme allows those nearing the end of a prison sentence to engage in work via release on temporary licence. It also helps ex-offenders to get back into the world of work, creating meaningful careers and thriving communities.
