What you'll be doing:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of commercial control across contracts, bids and processes, identifying risks, liabilities and commitments within contractual agreements

  • Drive business development activity working alongside the Head of Heat Networks Development and Energy BD team to identify and secure new business to meet strategic growth objectives

  • Oversee regulatory compliance, implementing and monitoring SLAs and KPIs, reporting to the regulatory body on a monthly/quarterly basis whilst managing ongoing risk

  • Take overall control of customer care, managing external partners such as for billing, metering and customer care services, with complete oversight of customer complaints from raised through to closure

  • Work with the Energy Markets team to forecast contract performance, support tariff setting, risk management and modelling of new business opportunities

  • Ensure all mobilisations are delivered to time, cost and quality criteria, with line management responsibility for the adoption team

  • Lead, mentor and manage the team, driving performance in line with business strategy

What we're looking for:

  • A background in District Heating and energy markets with experience of leading and managing within an operational District Heating organisation

  • A seasoned leader with a demonstrable track record of leading high-performance, cross-functional teams with the ability to embed strategy into a business

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage a P&L, thorough knowledge of contracting arrangements and experience in stakeholder management and problem-solving

  • Experience in customer care and complaints handling, with a solid understanding of regulatory compliance within an industry

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands and work effectively with ambiguity

  • Expert level financial management and IT proficiency, including the ability to utilise digital tools such as Power BI to deliver business critical reporting.
