Job Title - Education, Communications and Outreach Officer
Salary - £28,000 - £36,000, dependent on experience plus Veolia benefits (listed below)
Location - Hybrid - Mansfield MRF, Nottinghamshire with travel to other sites
Hours - Full-time, permanent, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.30-17.00, some work may also be required outside office hours / at weekends

What you'll be doing
Delivering educational visits/tours at our facility in Mansfield to groups from age 7+
Delivering school sessions and community talks across Nottinghamshire
Researching, developing, and delivering projects to promote increased recycling and increase waste minimisation behaviour change across Nottinghamshire
Creating briefs and managing relationships with design agencies, printers, and other third-party suppliers to provide effective communications materials
Supporting the External Engagement team with the preparation of press releases, website updates, and social media communications
Supporting internal communications campaigns to improve our working culture and safety performance
Where you will work
You will be based at our Materials Recovery Facility in Mansfield, where we process recyclable materials collected from Nottinghamshire households. It has the capacity to sort 85,000 tonnes of recyclable waste each year and contributes significantly towards achieving the county’s ambitious recycling targets.
There will also be opportunity to travel to other sites as well as across Nottinghamshire for community talks and school sessions.
What we’re looking for
Essential
Proven experience in behaviour change and community engagement
Proven experience in project planning and management
Proven experience in crisis communications and copywriting
Strong communication and presentation skills, with a high degree of attention to detail
Proven experience in digital communications and social media implementation
Strong organisational and multitasking skills
Excellent written and spoken English
Ability to demonstrate creativity and innovation, especially within communications
Strong Microsoft Office/Google Suite software skills and highly computer-literate
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
Desirable
Strong interest in sustainability and environmental awareness
Experience working in the waste management or environmental sector
Experience in website management
